Nurture Teacher (primary/secondary) required for our Communication and Interaction School

Secondary or primary practitioner with a willingness to work flexibly across the phases to meet the needs of pupils with communication and interaction needs who may be of secondary age but require further specialist primary input to close gaps in learning.

This is an exciting opportunity to change lives in a challenging but highly rewarding environment. Our staff are committed and dedicated to helping establish and grow this school as an outstanding provision for young people with communication and interaction needs. If you are skilled and committed to adapting your teaching to meet the individual needs of students, come and join our team. The role will include being a form tutor, planning and delivering learning within all areas of the secondary curriculum to a Key Stage 3 cohort of pupils. You will also plan and deliver our bespoke social communication curriculum and work with pupils to develop life skills that prepare them for their next phase of education.

The Fusion Academy, a school for children and young people aged 7-19 with communication and interaction needs and/or autism, supports 90 pupils. We are located in a purpose built school in Barwell. The Fusion Academy is part of a Multi Academy Trust called Open Thinking Partnership.

A flexible solution focussed approach to teaching young people of mainstream academic ability while addressing their communication and interaction barriers to learning is crucial.

Salary - MPS/UPS (depending on qualifications and experience) and SEN allowance .
