Additional allowances

An additional annual honorarium of £1800 to be awarded for the management of First Aid across the school, following the completion of a successful training period.

What skills and experience we're looking for

We are looking for someone with experience of providing high quality administrative support at a senior level (Head/Governor) in a busy environment with often competing deadlines.

Experience of Microsoft Office packages to include Word and Excel and SIM's experience would be desireable.

Line management experience with the ability to support and motivate staff

Excellent communication skills

Ability to provide a first point of contact service for visitors, staff and pupils

Well-developed organisational, decision making, problem-solving, time management and prioritisation skills

Ability to constantly improve own practice and knowledge through self-evaluation and learning from others

Good knowledge of education regulations

Personal Qualities

A flexible and adaptable approach to work with a professional attitude at all times.

Warm and approachable manner and the ability to relate to a wide range of staff, pupils and visitors

Good sense of humour is essential as is a calm, professional manner and the ability to work as a team

Awareness of the importance of confidentiality

As the Office Manager, you will co-ordinate the adminstration processes within school and be responsible for the efficient running of the school office and the line management of the reception/admin team as well as dealing with pupils, parents, governors, staff and other stakeholders at all levels.

Further details about the role

Following a successful training/handover period you will be awarded an additional £1800 per year to have overall responsibility for first aid in the school. This role includes. but it not limited to;

  • Overall responsibility for all first aid in school.
  • Deal quickly and calmly with any emergencies giving accurate information to the emergency services.
  • Manage training for all staff re Epipen training; asthma training and first aid training.
  • Responsible for buying and checking all first aid packs for trips etc., including inhalers.
  • Ensure monthly checks of the defibrillator machines; first aid kits and pupil medication trays have been undertaken.
  • Organise health checks for staff at the beginning of the academic year.
  • Responsible for arranging staff wellbeing refreshments.
