Outdoor Learning Mentor job summary

Mile Oak Primary School is seeking to appoint another highly skilled, experienced and passionate practitioner to join the school’s outdoor pastoral team. You will work alongside the school’s learning mentors to support children who have experienced significant trauma and have identified SEND needs. The successful candidate will deliver a daily programme of outdoor learning to children with high needs from across the whole school where the development of social, emotional and self-regulation skills and wellbeing support is the primary need.
The school has an extensive outdoor provision, including a living classroom, large forest school area, school pond, a large field, running track and class sets of bikes which would all form part of the provision.
The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers, the pastoral team and outside agencies to develop and deliver a tailored curriculum offer for the identified pupils to meet the needs of their EHCP/Boxall profile.
Prior experience of working with children with trauma, social, emotional and mental health needs is essential and holding QTS would be desirable but not essential to be considered for this role.
