Outreach SEMH Support Worker job summary
At Whitefield Primary Academy our tagline is ' Respecting others and being the best, we can be' and we do this through our values- based education. As a values-based school our children are empowered to love learning and our school community is happy and harmonious and engaging place where children feel secure
Our school has been on a journey over the last few years, and we have rapidly improving standards, which our curriculum reflects. Reading is at the heart of our curriculum, and we provide children with real-life experiences for writing through our Forest Schools programme and our WOW experiences and trips.
We support and nurture our children with our dedicated Family and Nurture Teams, who support children and their families.
At Whitefield, we are proud to have achieved the Gold School Games Award and the Platinum School Health and Well-being Award; we offer free comprehensive after-school activities programme for out pupils.
Whitefield is a 2 -form entry school with 60 Reception places available each year. In addition, we have 78 places for children aged 3-4 in our Nursery, offering both 15 hour and 30 hour placements with full wraparound childcare facility from 7:45am to 5:30pm.
In Lantern we have an excellent reputation of working with pupils with SEND and we provide high quality and personalised support for children of all abilities. We work with and support 8 schools within the North partnership of Luton, with a maximum of 6 children receiving in-reach support at the Lantern Provision.
Working with children and returning them back into their mainstream setting as quickly as possible is the main aim of the Lantern provision, whilst offering a full curriculum with high expectations of what our pupils can achieve.
Due to the nature of pupils' needs, our teaching approach offers children opportunities to make choices and to direct their own learning within a broad, balanced, and relevant curriculum differentiated to meet individual needs. Working therapeutically with pupils, we aim to identify the triggers which can prevent children from accessing learning and support them to develop strategies to overcome these.
We need an inspiring, innovative and impassioned Outreach SEND Support Worker to join our Lantern SEMH Provision.
Main duties:
* To plan, prepare and deliver SEMH interventions to direct individuals and small groups of pupils.
