PA to the Principal and HR Lead job summary

Start Date: ASAP

Hours: 37 Hours per week - 08:00-16:00 (15:30 Friday)

Working weeks: 43 weeks (39 + 4 - 148 hours, including GCSE & A Level results days)

Paid weeks: 49.45 rising to 50.57 after 5 years' service

Key Areas of responsibility – Please refer to Job Description for a full list of duties and responsibilities.

  • Provision of a full range of PA services to the Principal
  • Administration support to the Senior Leadership Team
  • Act as the primary point of contact for students, staff, parents, Governors and visitors who wish to contact and meet with the Principal.
  • Preparation of confidential staff references (teaching and support).
  • To be responsible for the maintenance of the Single Central Record.
  • To maintain the list of St John’s teaching staff on the NCTL website.
  • To manage the recruitment process and administration for all teaching and support staff vacancies.
  • To apply for DBS’s for St John’s, Academy Committee and Interns.
  • Manage the On-boarding of all new staff.

You will additionally be supported by Trust’s central HR team for the human resources elements of your role.  

You will preferably have a background in providing high effective administration support and have an understanding of HR practice.  You must be an outstanding administrator, personable, have excellent communication skills and be able to multi-task.  You should additionally be able to work on own initiative and understand the need for discretion and confidentiality.  You should be a proficient user of Microsoft Office Suite.
