Job description

A well-qualified and creative teacher of Art is required to join this extremely successful department.

Excellent results are produced through inspired teaching ensuring the girls enjoy and understand the subject. Four specialisms are offered at GCSE where numbers are very strong.

The successful candidate should have a strong academic background, and should be able to teach to GCSE and A Level. Candidates offering all of the Art specialisms taught at GCSE will be considered.

This is a highly effective team and the candidate will be expected to play a full role within the Department.

Essential skills and experience

Ability to teach a variety of Art Specialisms to KS3 level
Ability to teach Art throughout the school including A Level
A passion for Art
An ability to teach more than one Art specialism to GCSE would be an advantage but not essential
Articulate and accurate communication
A commitment to raising achievement and providing challenge in the classroom
Ability to work as part of a team
Committed to projecting and maintaining the high profile of Visual Arts throughout the school
Excellent organisational and administrative skills
In sympathy with the aims of the school
IT skills and experience of using ICT in teaching is desirable
Enthusiasm, energy and initiative
