The Wickford Church of England School are seeking a Caretaker for our friendly school that has children at its heart. The successful applicant will be supported by senior staff in keeping our school buildings and grounds safe, smart, compliant and fit for providing a high-quality education for our pupils.
Duties will include:
Opening and closing of school site
Key holding
Liaising with contractors
Carry out routine tests to meet legal compliance i.e. testing of water temperatures, fire extinguishers etc
Minor repairs to equipment and buildings
Preparing the school premises and site for out of school activities.
Replenishing stock
Manual handling of deliveries, checking them off and reporting any shortfall
Decorating
Litter picking
Cleaning
Keeping the outside area tidy including sweeping and minor gardening
