What skills and experience we're looking for

The purpose of this post is to provide support to the department of Design Technology (Resistant Materials and Engineering), specifically helping students with practical projects. An interest in workshop machinery would be beneficial.

Current timetable requirements need:

  • To work with Design Technology and Art teachers in preparing material for lessons.
  • To help students with the making of finished pieces of practical work.
  • To use a range of machines in the workshop including lathes, drills and CAD/CAM.
  • Willingness to undertake training in the use of machines, health & safety, working at height, P.A.T. testing, first aid, and safeguarding.
  • To work when needed in Design & Technology, Art and Food Technology.
  • To normally work 10 hours in Design & Technology, 4 hours in Art or flexibly.
  • Possible additional hours for lunchtime duties for interested candidates.

Additional tasks:

  • Any other duties as may be reasonably required by the Headteacher or Subject Leader of DT.
