What skills and experience we're looking for
An exciting position has become available to join our dedicated team at Epping Primary School. We are looking for an experienced SENCO for 3 days a week to become part of our supportive team. The role also comes with a TLR2b for additional responsibility of line managing support staff.
Applicants will have a proven record of exemplary classroom practice, have the ability to think and work innovatively and creatively, and enjoy working as part of a dedicated team. "The staff team are highly committed to meeting the needs of all pupils, which is appreciated by parents. Pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) are fully included in all aspects of school life." (Ofsted 2022) Applicants must also be responsive to our whole school ethos of ensuring the very best for every child. "Pupils enjoy coming to Epping Primary School and are proud of their school. Pupils are very well behaved."(Ofsted 2022) In addition, the ideal candidate will:
- Be a qualified primary school teacher with at least five years' experience
- Be able to build strong relationships with children and their families
- Have the accredited SENCO qualification
- Have a thorough knowledge of the Code of Practice
- Have the ability to effectively lead Teachers, Learning Support Assistants and our Pastoral Care Worker in developing their knowledge and expertise in working with SEND pupils
- Be able to liaise successfully with outside agencies
