What skills and experience we're looking for

Working pattern: 3 days per week (days flexible)

SEN Allowance: £2,679 per annum

Salaries are paid in 12 equal monthly instalments

Are you a qualified and experienced SENDCO?

The Churchwood Academy are seeking an experienced SENDCO to provide outstanding teaching practice with regards to SEND pupils and vulnerable learners. The successful candidate will ensure that there is a culture of high expectations for SEND pupils, and that their needs are met to enable them to meet their full potential through high quality provision.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has a drive for excellence and a desire to be outstanding
  • Who has a passion for supporting students with special educational needs and disability
  • Is highly organised, motivated and driven to succeed
  • Is a qualified SENCO and committed to the progress of ALL students
  • Is a team member who will collaborate with colleagues to ensure the progress of students
  • Has enthusiasm, presence and authority who can deliver consistently

Churchwood Primary Academy

Churchwood Primary Academy is a one-form entry school situated in the picturesque setting of Church Wood in Hastings.

We pride ourselves on creating confident, independent, ambitious children. We do this through high-quality teaching and a firm belief in the benefits of Forest School, which encourages creative problem-solving and a bond with the natural world. We support and guide every child to achieve their very best.

We are committed to working in partnership with parents, working tirelessly to ensure high aims and high achievement. The academy has a published admissions number of 30 and a total capacity of 218 pupils; this includes a special educational needs facility for eight Key Stage 2 pupils with an Autistic Spectrum Disorder combined with speech and language communication difficulties. The academy also hosts a nursery for children aged from 2 years.
