Part-Time Teacher / Instructor in Catering (0.6FTE) job summary
Part Time Teacher / Instructor of Catering (0.6 FTE) required for September 2021.
Compass Learning Centre is looking for a part time (0.6 FTE) Teacher / Instructor of Catering who wants to make a difference to those young people who have struggled in mainstream school. You will be required to teach Catering as a main subject across both Key Stages 3 and 4 delivering ASDAN Short Course, BTEC Home Cooking Skills and NVQ Level 1 and 2.
We are interested in hearing from Catering Teachers / Instructors or Food Technology Teachers who would enjoy working with small classes to embed learning and help students to achieve their best. You should hold a relevant teaching qualification (QTS or TLLS Accredited Qualification Level 4 or 5), have knowledge of subject specific curriculum development and experience of working in the hospitality industry.
The ability to teach across other areas of the curriculum may be an advantage.

Students who attend the Compass Learning Centre predominently expereince difficulties engaging in a mainstream school. The centre caters for students who have been permanently excluded from a mainstream school, individuals with medical conditions that prevent attendance at mainstream schools and a few pupils without access to regular education. A number of students are admitted with an Education Health Care Plan and a few are in the care of the local authority.
