What skills and experience we're looking for

Part Time Teacher of Food Technology

With potential to teach Textiles too, if desired

Permanent Contract Start date: September 2025

Salary: Main Pay Scale/Upper Pay Scale (Suitable for ECTs)

A rare opportunity has arisen to join our excellent technology faculty, where you’ll have access to some of the very best facilities in our technology rooms, including recently upgraded food rooms, the chance to work with like-minded specialists, supported by a dedicated team of technicians, and the opportunity to shape the minds of our curious, wonderful students.

We firmly believe that a broad and balanced curriculum is critical to ensuring that every young person we have the privilege to teach is able to find their uniqueness and realise their potential – including the next great chefs or food employees of the future. If you agree, we’d love to hear from you. If you’d love to work with a full team of specialists, who share your passion, then you’ve just found the job for you.

Are you able to:

  • Inspire and innovate?
  • Nurture and develop (yourself as well as others)?
  • Commit to, and raise further, high achievement and motivation?
  • Optimise learning for all?

What the school offers its staff

  • Our greatest strength is our people and we work hard to make sure you know that. Wellbeing is central to all we do – we have dedicated wellbeing days for staff, early finishes for you to take the time you need, and we have now implemented a 2-week Autumn half term, giving you more time outside of work than in other schools
  • Our students are exceptional – bright, inquisitive, respectful and diligent and they provide an environment where you can teach and realise your potential, as well as theirs. Ofsted said their behaviour was outstanding, and we agree
  • Not to mention the little thank-yous that make a difference now and again – Easter eggs, advent calendars, breakfasts, BBQs and end of term events
  • Planning your lessons is crucial and it’s always easier when we collaborate – we’ve put in place hours of co-planning so that you can share best practice and resources and not have to sit at home doing it on your own.

In addition, we will offer:

  • A culture of bespoke professional development from our own Leadership Academy
  • The opportunity to make a difference
  • Staff iPads
  • Benefit schemes
  • The benefit of being part of a multi-academy trust offering collaboration, support of experienced colleagues across our schools and greater opportunities for career progression
