Part Time Teaching Assistant & Midday Assistant - 9am to 1pm, Two Days Per Week job summary

We are looking for a committed, enthusiastic and flexible part-time Teaching Assistant (TA) to initially work in our year three and four class at our Atworth base. The successful applicant will also work as a midday supervisory assistant (MDSA).

The successful candidate will be part of a job share and be expected to work two days per week, likely Thursday and Friday, 9am to 1pm. They will work closely with, and be supported by, staff from both bases and will likely be given the opportunity to supplement their income with additional TA overtime hours, and Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) hours during, or outside of, their contracted hours at both bases, depending on their availability and the needs of the school. HLTA-based experience and support will be provided if necessary.

A flexible candidate, able to travel between both bases using their own transport, is essential to be responsive to our school’s needs. This is a short ten minute journey, and travel expenses will be paid.

The successful candidate will be:
• Able to carry out numerous roles under the guidance of classteachers to ensure that all pupils are well
supported and make at least good progress.
• Aware of the needs of primary age children.
• Able to make learning fun and accessible to children.
• Committed to the school family and ethos and willing to contribute fully to the life of the school.
• Flexible and adaptable, and open to new ideas and ways of working.
• A good communicator and team player.
• Happy to develop their own skills and knowledge, even if experienced.
• Willing to work across both bases of our federated school.

We offer:
• A supportive, friendly and hardworking team.
• A school that is committed to seeing all children reach their full potential.
• A school community that enjoys learning together.
• Supportive parents and governors.
• Commitment to your professional development.
