Part Time Tecaher of PE - including role of Outdoor Education Coordinator job summary

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Teacher of PE to join our successful PE department. The successful candidate will demonstrate a passion for sport and physical education and will have the ability to teach and inspire a wide range of pupils with differing needs and abilities.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic PE Department, which has achieved excellent results with teams and individuals at area, county and national level. The successful candidate will contribute to the development, positive profile and future success of sport within the College.

The successful candidate will coordinate the development of our popular Outdoor Education programme. The College is committed to providing a variety of extra-curricular opportunities including participation in the annual Ten Tors Challenge and the Duke of Edinburgh Awards scheme (DofE). The successful candidate will be required to support weekend training and outdoor activities.

Applications are welcomed from experienced teachers or highly motivated newly qualified teachers who have a strong enthusiasm for Outdoor Education and can inspire and engage our keen pupils.

Our recent Ofsted inspection, in February 2018, judged that our school remains a ‘good school’. The report recognised that the examination results gained by Year 11 pupils have continued to improve and outcomes have been consistently above the national average across subjects. Inspectors observed excellent standards of conduct around the school.
