Part Time Thrive Practitioner (TA) job summary

Castle Primary School is a vibrant and growing school, situated in Keynsham, between Bath & Bristol.

We are seeking an energetic and flexible TA to join our committed team.

The role will be part of our pastoral support team working with primary-aged children using the Thrive Approach. Experience or Thrive training would be an advantage but full training can be offered to a suitable candidate. Tuesday & Thursday (8.30-3pm) and Wednesday (1-4pm) term-time only.

We are flexible about the skills and experience required. It is suitable for someone with school experience and TA training (Grade 4) or other employment with primary-aged children, OR someone with the required qualifications seeking a new challenge (Grade 3) - as training and support will be. However, previous experience in KS1 or KS2, and school-based training would be an advantage.

This is an opportunity to make a real difference to children’s lives and their futures. It is a chance to join a supportive team committed to ensure all our children reach their potential by offering support to children with Social, Emotional or Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Thrive sessions would be in our dedicated Thrive Room and supporting children either 1-2-1 or in small groups. Eventually we would like to also offer family Thrive sessions.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and flexible team player, who understands the importance of going ‘over and above’. Our children thrive with adults who are friendly, firm and fair, and we are seeking a calm, consistent and committed person.

We can offer you:

  • Children who will make you smile everyday
  • A commitment to professional development, and being able to develop personal areas of interest linked with the role
  • A school where staff enjoy working as part of a dedicated, supportive and creative team, aiming for excellence
  • A supportive and encouraging Leadership Team and Governing Body
  • An excellent Employee Assistance Programme offering a wealth of advice & support
  • Thrive training and on-going support

We warmly encourage visits to our school so you can see for yourself all that we can offer. Please contact the school office to arrange a convenient time.
