The Headteacher and Governors of St Laurence Church Junior School are seeking to appoint a Grade 4 pastoral and attendance lead to support and promote good attendance as well as provide support and advice to children and families. You will be required to build a strong bond with the pupils you are working with in order to provide the highest level of support, therefore it is important you are able to build relationships quickly and understand the needs of the pupils you will be supporting. Our school has recently reviewed its behaviour and relationships policy and our ethos is built around using Zones of Regulation and emotion coaching to support children.
We are looking for someone who:
is nurturing and caring
is empathetic and has a passionate approach to children
is proactive, flexible and willing
has the ability to build rapport with disengaged children
is confident in working with children with challenging behaviour
has a passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning
has the ability and experience to run small group interventions
can liaise with teachers, SENDCO and parents
can monitor and evaluate pastoral strategies
desirably has an understanding or experience of working with children/young people with Autism, ADHD, sensory processing difficulties or learning difficulties, SEMH and trauma
can promote positive attendance strategies and work closely with parents and families.
