Pastoral Assistant job summary
Full time. 37hrs per week. Term time only plus one week.
(Actual working hours will be discussed in the recruitment process and will be determined by the Academy. Flexibility will be required in relation to your exact start/finish times to ensure the needs of The Trust are met)
You’ll support with the smooth and effective management of behaviour and maintenance of high standards with regard to attendance, punctuality and attitudes to learning across the school.
Under the guidance of the Senior Pastoral Leader you'll support the Pastoral Team and other key student support teams to ensure that students:
Arrive at lessons on time.
Circulate safely around the school.
Remain and behave well in supervised areas at unstructured times of the day.
Are fully equipped in lessons and are ready to learn.
Comply with school expectations and routines throughout the day.
You'll ensure processes are followed for managing students effectively when challenging rules and expectations in lessons.
You'll ensure administrative tasks are managed to allow for effective communication, recording and reporting of behaviour and attendance related matters.
You’ll have experience of working with young people and have knowledge of relevant practices and procedures including methods of behaviour management. Whilst not essential, experience of working within an educational setting would be desirable. You’ll have GCSE English and Maths or equivalent.
