What skills and experience we're looking for
The successful candidate will be:
- An inspirational person who can provide targeted support to vulnerable children in the school requiring interventions in relation to behaviour, social skills and overcoming barriers to learning
- Willing to support colleagues in the wider school community to develop their practice to support all learners
- Experienced and committed to positive behaviour management strategies.
- Personable, approachable and able to build positive working relationships with adults and children.
- Solution focused and resilient; someone who can offer and receive support as part of a team.
- A passionate team player who will play an active role in all aspects of school life and contribute to the development of our school.
- Someone with high expectations of themself and all children; someone who is committed to raising standards of learning and achievement
- Confident to communicate with parents and other agencies
This job is suitable for someone who is looking for a career in education or working with children. While experience of working in a similar field or role is preferable it isnot essential. In all cases, training is available for the right candidate who wishes to develop their skill set. What is essential is the drive and determination that every student shall receive the support they need to be given the best chance to succeed.
You will support the behaviour and wellbeing of all year groups and often have to work with children who find school difficult. Fundamentally you have to really care about our pupils.
