Pastoral Manager job summary
The successful candidate must be flexible, enthusiastic, passionate and be able to work as part of a skilled team within an organised and disciplined environment supporting children and their families.
Your key responsibilities will be:
- Working closely with the Head of Pastoral Care, Principal/Head of School, Senior Leadership Team, SEND Team and Admin Team to support the academic well-being, achievement, attendance and behaviour of students.
- Working within the Pastoral Department to support the learning and behaviour of students who have been removed from lessons in accordance with the school discipline policy and procedure and to provide intervention as necessary to support progress.
- Communicate directly with parents, guardians and carers in relation to progress, behaviour, safety, attendance, medical and well-being concerns.
- Ensuring the best possible outcomes for our children, particularly our most vulnerable including those with special educational needs or those that are in care.
- Parental engagement- creating and supporting activities to engage with parents in school.
- Carrying out First Aid.
- Working with external agencies and other bodies to ensure a holistic approach is taken to meet the needs of pupils and their families.
- Working closely with the SLT and SENDCo on all aspects of safeguarding and child protection matters, assisting and supporting the work of the (Deputy) Designated Safeguarding Lead.
