We are seeking a committed and proactive Pastoral Manager to become an intrinsic part of our high-performing pastoral team. This pivotal role focuses on improving learner behaviour, supporting the behaviour curriculum, and driving attendance to ensure every learner thrives. Candidates must have a good level of experience in working with various levels of behaviour, communication and to promote positive values at all times within school.

Candidates must demonstrate substantial experience in working with a wide range of behavioural needs and communication styles, consistently promoting positive values throughout the school.

The successful applicant will possess exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills, as the role involves regular interaction with parents, colleagues, learners, and the wider community. Previous experience in a behaviour focused and/or restorative role is essential, ideally within a school setting, although this is not mandatory.

Applicants must also show the ability to work flexibly, prioritise tasks effectively, remain calm under pressure, and maintain a professional and approachable manner at all times. It is desirable for candidates to have completed safeguarding training or possess a strong understanding of child protection procedures; however, full training will be provided.


Purpose of Role:

  • Lead the development and consistent implementation of the behaviour curriculum, promoting a positive and respectful school culture.
  • Monitor learner behaviour and attendance, identifying trends and delivering targeted interventions to improve outcomes.
  • Mentor learners to help them overcome barriers to success, fostering resilience and personal growth.
  • Liaise effectively with families to build strong, supportive relationships that reinforce high expectations for behaviour and attendance.
  • Establish and maintain productive partnerships with external agencies to provide additional support for learners and families.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff, curriculum,academic and senior leaders to embed behaviour strategies that enhance engagement and achievement.
  • Contribute to safeguarding and wellbeing initiatives, ensuring the safety and success of all learners.
  • To offer all pupils an effective education in a stimulating environment, that provides equality of opportunity for all.
  • To ensure all pupils make good or better progress irrespective of their starting points and backgrounds.
