The role of Pastoral Manager is central to ensuring that every young person is supported to thrive both academically and personally within a nurturing and inclusive school environment. Acting as a key link between students, families and staff, the Pastoral Manager plays a vital role in promoting positive behaviour, improving attendance, and supporting emotional wellbeing through targeted, individualised interventions.

Working in close collaboration with teaching staff, senior leaders and external agencies, the Pastoral Manager develops and implements strategies that remove barriers to learning and enable students to reach their full potential. The role requires a proactive and compassionate approach, combining mentoring, monitoring of progress, and early intervention to address issues such as disengagement, social and emotional challenges, and risk of exclusion.

At the heart of the role is a commitment to building strong, trusting relationships with students and their families. By acting as the first point of contact for pastoral concerns and working in partnership with parents and carers, the Pastoral Manager ensures a joined-up approach to support that enhances both wellbeing and achievement.

This is a highly rewarding position for an individual who is resilient, empathetic and committed to making a meaningful difference in young people’s lives. Through consistent support, high expectations and a focus on inclusion, the Pastoral Manager helps to create a safe, supportive environment where all students can succeed and flourish
