What skills and experience we're looking for

The Pastoral Officer will support both staff and students to access their learning, contact with families/external agencies and supporting a range of student activities throughout the school.

Working under guidance, to provide support in addressing the needs of students who require particular help to overcome barriers to learning.

Core Tasks and Responsibility:

There are three key areas responsibility:

  • Support for Students/Teachers
  • Support for the Inclusion Team
  • Support for the School.

You will be joining Parkside at an exciting time in our incredible journey, as in April 2023 Parkside Community School joined Embark Federation as part of their trust and in November 2023 the school appointed a new Headteacher. The school benefits from a skilled and committed staff and since 2019, Key Stage 4 external examinations show pupils’ progress to be amongst the highest in the Local Authority with Y11 Progress 8 outcomes at +0.48 in 2023, the second highest in Derbyshire. Our last OFSTED Inspection in September 2022 stated that we continue to be a good school and we strive to continue to provide the very best life chances for all students in our community.
