Pastoral Officer job summary
Full-time - 37 hours per week / 39 weeks per year.
Key responsibilities of the role including:-
- Monitor wellbeing and providing targeted support for students
- Deliver individual and small group interventions to address emotional, social and behavioural needs
- Communicate regularly with parents/carers, staff and students to ensure a collaborative approach to support
- Undertake relevant safeguarding training and act as a member of the safeguarding team, responding to concerns under the direction of the Designated Safeguarding Lead and senior members of the team
- Monitor behaviour incidents and support with investigations as requested
- Promote positive behaviour, resilience and respectful relationships in line with the Academy’s values
- Promote inclusivity and ensure all students feel valued and safe in school life
The successful candidate will have:-
- The ability to communicate with students and colleagues effectively
- Contribute to the provision of an effective learning environment for all students
- Have GCSE English and Maths at Grade 5 (C) and above
- Be conscientious with excellent attention to detail
- Be able to motivate students through a commitment to equal opportunities, regardless of background, SEND or prior attainment
- Be able to work as part of a team.

Previous experience of working with young people in a similar role will be an advantage.
