Pastoral Support Officer job summary

Part time: 32.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year

We are seeking to appoint a pro-active, organised, enthusiastic and self-motivated Pastoral Support Officer who will work closely with parents and carers in all aspects of their child’s life at Castle Hill and at home. This will involve regular communication with families, working with external providers and internal professionals. You will have extensive knowledge of managing safeguarding issues and a strong track record of working with young people and families.

Duties to include:

Working in collaboration with the lead for Inclusion, ensuring there is effective joined up planning for the provision of all students including SEND students

Leading on early help and family plans, ensuring school staff carry out their actions in a timely manner

Liaising with external agencies and be the first point of contact for Children’s Services Attend case conferences and child in need meetings as required

Where necessary, carry out formal procedures to hold families to account

While experience is required and educational experience is preferred, a strong desire to learn is essential due to comprehensive training provided

Due to the nature of this role a certain amount of flexibility is required

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore will be subject to a DBS check from the Disclosure and Barring Service.
