The Castle School requires an enthusiastic and patient individual with a strong communication and administrative skill to join our pastoral team as our Pastoral Support Officer as soon as possible.
The Pastoral Support Officer will be responsible for providing support to students with their emotional health and wellbeing, improving student behaviour for learning so that they are able to achieve and attain well in lessons as well as develop social skills. They will work as part of a Pastoral team to ensure that students are able to enjoy and fully participate in all areas of School life and reach their full potential.
The successful candidate will have excellent organisation and interpersonal skills and will be a team player with strong empathy skills who is able to demonstrate initiative. A commitment and passion for working with young people and improving their life chances is essential. Applicants with experience of working in a school or similar organisation are very welcome but this is not essential as it is more important to have the right attributes and attitudes.
In addition to the above, the postholder would help to provide First Aid in the absence of the first aid lead or to assist at busy periods. Full training will be given and a First Aid Allowance (approximately £220 per annum) is payable for this role.
