Pastoral Support Worker for Key Stage 3 and 4

Term Time only - 38 weeks including 3 training days

Full Time hours - 37 hours per week

Monday - Thursday 8.30am - 4.20pm and Friday 8.30am - 3.50pm

Cardinal Newman School is an 11-19 comprehensive school with Specialist Science Status, serving the Roman Catholic community in Luton and Dunstable. We are one of the most successful schools in Luton and have a thriving 6th form with 300 students. We have been consistently described by Ofsted as a ‘good’ school and under Section 48 as an ‘outstanding Catholic school’.

We require a Pastoral Support Worker who can provide support to all students, particularly the most vulnerable within the school, ensuring their ability to access education is maximised. The successful candidate will be required to support students experiencing emotional difficulties, disaffection, lack of confidence or other issues to enable them to achieve their full academic potential, in conjunction with Heads of Year. Some experience of supporting the learning of disaffected pupils would be desirable.
