What skills and experience we're looking for

We are looking for enthusiastic and conscientious Pastoral support worker with:

  • recent experience of working in a school setting;
  • have experience of making referrals to and working with outside agencies;
  • the ability to work constructively as part of a team and commit to the school’s ethos, aims and school environment;
  • an understanding of how children learn and the complexities of this process;
  • the ability to work under pressure in a constantly changing and demanding environment, prioritising conflicting work demands;
  • an understanding of legislation, policies and guidance around child protection and data protection .
  • Ability to adapt personal style of communication to reflect a situation or need;
  • a commitment to maximising the academic, personal, social and emotional development of all pupils;
  • knowledge of how inadequate attendance and punctuality impacts on a child’s education;
  • a personable nature to build effective relationships with parents and all members of the school community;
  • strong interpersonal skills, the ability to build positive relationships, and a positive can-do attitude.
