What skills and experience we're looking for
We are looking for a Teaching Assistant for our specialist resourced provision for pupils with physical difficulties.
The hours of work are 8.20 - 3.15 daily for 38 weeks of term time.
Applicants should have the necessary skills to support pupils who have various difficulties in mainstream classes, in small groups or on an individual basis. Candidates would be expected to have good literacy and numeracy skills and as part of the interview may be asked to demonstrate these skills. Ideally applicants will have some experience of working with children with a physical disability, but it is not essential, as full training will be provided.
The role will also include delivering some elements of personal care.
You will either work with individuals or small groups, supporting pupils to understand instructions and facilitate independent learning, helping to provide inclusion for all pupils.
The successful candidate would require:
Experience of working with children in a similar environment;
A good general education including English, Maths and Science GCSE’s;
Proven ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Evidence of other TA related qualifications or training, and experience of supporting those with specific learning difficulties would be an advantage.
