Fixed Term Contract – Initially for one year

In the role you will inspire, engage and support the staff, pupils and parents of Braeburn Primary and Nursery Academy through the development and delivery of curriculum based and extra-curricular activities.

Planning and delivering high quality PE lessons, a broad and balanced extra-curricular activity programme, as well as the administration tasks that come with the role, you will deliver activities in accordance with school policy, making sure that lessons are safe and pupils are fully engaged. Good behaviour management skills are essential.

The right candidate should be able to coordinate a programme of high quality, professional PE and sporting activities, which reflects the needs of the school, playing a central role in enabling the school and its pupils to achieve their full potential. Experience in a primary school setting is essential, as is knowledge of the National Curriculum requirements for PE and suitable qualifications in this subject area.

At Braeburn Primary and Nursery Academy, we recently achieved the afPE Quality Mark for Physical Education, School Sport & Physical Activity.

We use PE and Sport as a tool to support whole school improvement. A healthy and active child is more likely to become a healthy and active adult; it is our aim to inspire children into being active and leading healthy lifestyles.

With this in mind, and to further improve what we already offer, we are looking to appoint a PE, Sport and Activity Leader. This is an exciting role, with a particular focus on delivering high quality PE.
