What skills and experience we're looking for

a. Evidence of successful teaching experience to provide exemplar practice to staff and raise the quality of standards in teaching and learning.

b. Evidence of the ability to lead other professionals in curriculum activities.

c. Evidence of the ability to work co-operatively with multi-disciplinary professionals, governors and other agencies.

d. Evidence of the ability to promote a positive ethos and pride in the College together with high standards of education, care and behaviour.

e. Proven ability to use ICT in the organisation and management of their role.

f. Evidence of a sound knowledge of the current PE curriculum and a willingness to engage in curriculum development.

g. Evidence of contributing to College self-review.

h. Evidence of knowing the assessment requirements and arrangements for the subjects/curriculum areas they teach, including those relating to examinations and qualifications.

i. Evidence of developing effective communication strategies with all students.

j. Experience in managing small groups on off-site educational visits.

k. Evidence of contribution to school wide development.

l. A detailed knowledge of health, safety and safeguarding issues.

We are looking for a teacher who is:

  • Looking to work in a college with a positive and inclusive ethos.
  • Ability to deliver outstanding PE/OAA lessons to a range of learning needs and abilities.
  • To engage and motivate students across a range a physical activity disciplines such as swimming, trampolining, gymnastics, target and team games.
  • Able to assist the outdoor education programme including team building days and Duke of Edinburgh award expeditions.
  • Dynamic, creative and emotionally intelligent.

We welcome applications from teachers with excellent special or mainstream experience in primary or secondary sector. A programme of support and training will be offered to develop your understanding and skills in special educational needs within a supportive environment.

Applicants who are invited to interview will also be observed working with a class of students to demonstrate how they interact with students and structure learning. We fully intend to hold interviews face to face and will provide more information about how this can be conducted safely. However, if a remote interview is necessary candidates will need to be able to access IT and wi fi: we will support this if required and practical.
