Francis Barber is a very good PRU with many outstanding features.

Many of the pupils have faced challenges within mainstream schools. Some continue to be challenging within the PRU, but there is a strong staff team helping the young people to manage their behaviour within a supportive and caring school-like environment.

Staff at Francis Barber are committed to creating a reflective and considerate community where pupils can learn in a safe and secure environment. Staff CPD this year has focused on embedding a whole school trauma informed approach.

Francis Barber is a great place to work with a friendly staff team and fantastic transport links and shops and banks nearby. The school is very mindful of supporting staff wellbeing and there are many opportunities for CPD, mentoring and coaching. Other benefits include; access to Cyclescheme, a contribution towards the cost of eyecare, season ticket loans and access to our Employee Assistance Programme.
