Parkwood Hall is currently a residential and day school for pupils aged 8-19 years with moderate to severe learning difficulties, and other diverse and complex needs. The pupils here are an inspiration to us all.
It’s an exciting time at Parkwood Hall and you would be joining at a transformational time for the academy. Under a new leadership team, Parkwood Hall has undergone radical changes to its behaviour ethos, and curriculum design and implementation.
We are currently seeking an excellent Performing Arts Teacher who is passionate about working with children and young people with Special Educational Needs to join our highly skilled team. The roles would suit energetic and committed practitioners who can engage children and young people with SEND and continually focus on, and drive, delivery of an adapted curriculum that meets the needs of our pupils in all aspects of their learning including social development, personal needs, communication, independence and life skills.
Role Summary:
Plan, implement, assess and review learning opportunities for a class group, ensuring pupils make good progress. The Teacher will deliver a high-quality curriculum that is bespoke to Parkwood Hall.

Key Tasks and Activities:
- Provide Teaching and Learning in Performing Arts at a high standard.
- Lead and manage all support staff within the class groups during Performing Arts sessions so that staff feel well supported, trained, and perform their roles at the highest level.
- Monitor and improve the quality of teaching and learning within the class groups leading to improved rates of pupil progress in Performing Arts.
- Provide an outstanding personal and professional role model for all staff in line with the Teachers Standards.
- Ensure all staff within the class groups implement all school policies and procedures leading to effective safeguarding of pupils in all aspects of school life.
- To take part in self-evaluation and performance management processes that will provide the evidence to support these accountabilities as well as the data the school will require for school self-evaluation purposes.
- Be a reflective practitioner and take account of the school’s strategic vision to develop own self.
- Have the ability to analyse pupil progress data in a variety of formats.
- Ensuring that the environment is safe and secure, meeting the needs of the curriculum, staff, pupils, visitors and Health & Safety regulations.
- Ensuring effective communications within the whole school community.
- Be an active member of a range of school-based activities.
- To ensure that deadlines are met consistently.
- To ensure that you are continuously open to growth within the academy.
