What skills and experience we're looking for
Required from November 2024, a Technician to provide technical and administrative support and practical assistance, primarily to the Drama and Music departments but with flexibility to support other departments as required.
Having achieved the best results in the school’s history in summer 2023, followed by a visit from Ofsted in May 2024, where we were judged as a strong ‘Good’ in all areas, Buckler’s Mead Academy is going from strength to strength.
A vacancy has arisen for an enthusiastic Performing Arts Technician from November 2024. The post is 18.25 hours per week, term time only plus 2 additional INSET days. The successful candidate should be confident in the use of technical and practical equipment and with an interest in Drama and Music.
Main Duties and Responsibilities include:
- Preparing classrooms and drama studio for use by staff and students, ensuring a safe and tidy working environment
- Assisting and supporting teaching staff in delivering practical activities in lessons
- Working with teaching staff in the creation of teaching resources and materials
- Maintaining, cleaning and repairing equipment (seeking specialist assistance when necessary) in order to ensure safe and efficient operation

Originally established as Buckler's Mead School in 1957, Buckler’s Mead Academy is now a successful 11- 16 academy where we pride ourselves on providing an inspiring education for all.
