What skills and experience we're looking for
We are seeking to appoint a dynamic and inspirational peripatetic Teacher of Singing to join our Expressive Arts department. You would coordinate and work alongside our thriving music department. We are currently able to offer one day a week during the school term and there is the potential this may increase.
The successful candidate will be expected to plan their own weekly timetable for each half term period, taking into account the availability of pupils. Main duties will include preparing pupils for music exams and performances. The role will involve completion of all administrative tasks required. The College offers financial support for Pupil Premium children in order that all pupils can access this provision, should they wish to. The postholder will liaise with parents regarding payment.
What the school offers its staff
The Expressive Arts Department work collaboratively to offer the very best creative and performance experiences for our pupils. Collaboration with Music and Drama was most recently seen in an outstanding Year 10 performance at the Shakespeare in Schools festival at the Barnfield Theatre Exeter.
Chulmleigh College aims to encourage as many pupils as possible to participate in music, with opportunities for all pupils to attend lunch time music activities and perform at regular concerts. Moreover, 20% of pupils are engaged with either music or singing. Pupils enjoy the benefits of well-equipped music classrooms and practice rooms which are available for use by peripatetic teachers to deliver a full range of instrumental and singing lessons.
