What the school offers its staff
Brough Community Primary School is a thriving, successful school with a great staff team. We are rated ‘Good in all areas’ by Ofsted (2019) and are national leaders in online learning. Our curriculum offer celebrates our local environment – we are a passionate Eco-School and are recent Cumbria Eco-forum’s Within School Action award winners. The outdoor area in our Early Years area has recently been renovated and is a fabulous place to teach and work!
The school is ever-growing and on top of this 0.5 contract, there would almost certainly be more opportunities throughout the period for more teaching or tutoring work. We would be happy to discuss this with you by enquiry or at the interview stage of the application process. The other 0.5 post in the class is led by our EYFS lead teacher, who is a vastly experienced member of staff and can provide support and guidance on how we deliver our fabulous curriculum.
Further details about the role
This is an exciting opportunity for any teacher seeking to work in a progressive, caring school which is at the heart of its community. We are also conscious that jobs are two-way processes and it would be just as important to hear what you would also like to get from us as a school – we are committed to delivering high-quality CPD for all staff! The successful candidate will: •Be an enthusiastic practitioner, keen to take on a mixed Reception/Year 1 class (approximately 25 pupils). •Have experience of planning for all subjects within the Early Years/KS1 Curriculum. •Have a passion for the environment - a Forest Schools qualification would be great or a keenness to join in with our Forest Schools sessions. •Be up-to-date with approaches to teaching and keen to take on new challenges in the profession.
- Have familiarity and ideally, experience of delivering synthetics phonics programmes (we use Little Wandle). •Maintain our warm and welcoming environment to enable all children to reach their full potential. Please indicate your strengths and interests as a candidate, especially on your letter of application.
Here at Brough Community Primary School, we are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all of its employees to share this commitment. An enhanced DBS check will be required for this post. Please contact the school for an application pack on 017683 41284 or email: admin@brough.cumbria.sch.uk
Candidates are encouraged to come and visit the school in advance of application.
Closing date for applications is: Tuesday 26th September 12 pm. Interviews will be held on: Thursday 12th October
