What skills and experience we're looking for

Applications are invited from suitably-qualified, experienced and enthusiastic candidates who are able to contribute to overall good order within the School, including behaviour management, and promote the well-being and general progress and achievement of students through: providing first line support to students on pastoral issues, providing achievement, attendance, behavioural and educational support to students and providing a strategic link between the school and other agencies and parents/carers.

The successful candidate will report to the Behaviour and Attendance Manager and a Senior Leadership Team link, liaising with teaching staff and tutors. Applicants need to be fully aware of responsibilities relating to the duty of care, be able to lead others and work effectively as a team member, be adaptable to changing circumstances and new ideas, take responsibility, make decisions, as well as havinggood communication and listening skills. The post-holder will manage one year group of approximately 250 students.

We were extremely pleased to have been rated as Outstanding by Ofsted in May 2019, one of only a small number of schools in England to have achieved the highest rating that year. We are also delighted that we continue to achieve impressive A level results in our high-performing Sixth Form with an average grade of B- placing the school within the top 4 mainstream Sixth Form schools in Warwickshire and the highest-performing in North Warwickshire, which again shows how students, staff and parents/carers work together effectively. In July 2021, we were granted World Class Schools status, one of a very small number of schools to achieve this.
We are also very excited to be opening a new free school, Higham Lane North Academy, in September 2025. Just a mile away from Higham Lane School, there will be exciting opportunities for the two secondary schools, as part of the wider trust, to work together with many mutual benefits for both students and staff.
