What skills and experience we're looking for

We have an exciting opportunity for a Personal Care Assistant to join the team. The successful candidate will support children over a whole age range with varying and sometimes complex needs, to assist with their day to day classroom and personal requirements.

The successful candidate will:

  • Support children with personal hygiene and self-care programmes
  • Have a knowledge of all roles and responsibilities related to the care and support of children.
  • Prepare learning materials and resources, adapting the environment when necessary.
  • Support play and leisure activities
  • Support children with eating and drinking at break times and lunch times

Essential

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Good planning and organisational skills with the ability to manage conflicting demands
  • Commitment to the safeguarding and welfare of all chidlren and providing equality of opportunity

We are a specialist academy based in Mansfield with over 50 children aged 3-11 with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). A large proportion of our children have autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and moderate or severe learning disabilities (MLD/SLD).
