The High Point Academy opened in September 2021, and we aim for all our pupils to be "ACE" we have ambitious aspirations for all our learners; we wish to challenge the impossible and encourage independence for all.
We educate up to 112 pupils aged 11-16 years with autism and moderate learning difficulties. High Point is part of Forward Education Trust, a rapidly growing Multi Academy Trust established in 2017 serving special schools across the West Midlands (Birmingham, Solihull and Sandwell).
The successful candidate will:
Is a highly effective classroom practitioner who is committed to providing outstanding learning experiences for all pupils, and who has a proven track record for achieving excellent pupil progress.
Can play a full part in whole-school strategic planning and development as a key member of the Senior Leadership Team.
Able to work and communicate effectively and pro-actively with parents to provide the very best for their children.
Monitors standards and progress to ensure high standards.
Can plan and provide inspirational and relevant learning experiences.
Demonstrates highly effective behaviour skills and strategies within KS2.
Has high expectations of themselves and their children.
Makes learning real, to unlock student engagement, stimulate curiosity, provide deeper thinking and a passion for learning.
Is committed to developing and sustaining excellent relationships across the whole school community.
Has excellent communication and organisational skills, and an approachable, determined and resilient character.
Has had experience of leading a core subject, or has the skill set and the willingness to lead a core subject.
Has the relevant degree and QTS

High Point Academy opened in September 2021 for children and young people aged 11-16 years who all have an Education Health and Care Plan and a diagnosis of Autism. The school is part of Forward Education Trust, who specialise in SEN provision. We are increasing our pupil numbers in September 2023 which has allowed for this fantastic new role.
