This is an exciting opportunity to lead a phase within our academy with additional responsibility for a core curriculum area. We can offer you the opportunity to advance your career with the support of our new leadership team.We’re looking for a leader who:

  • is reflective and innovative in their practice
  • has the drive to lead a core curriculum area - Foundation Subjects
  • and can support other practitioners to develop their practice
  • can build positive relationships with staff, pupils and parents alike
  • has experience of successfully leading (subject or phase) and can contribute ideas to a strong and forward-thinking team
  • is willing to develop their knowledge and skills in using IT to support children’s learning and their own workload
  • has experience of teaching young people with autism and is committed to adapting learning to the needs of individuals

Medeshamstede Academy is an all through Academy for pupils aged 4 to 16. About us:

Medeshamstede Academy opened in 2012 as a new, purpose-built provision within Greenwood Academies Trust. All pupils have an Education, Health and Care plan with autism as their main presenting need. Our curriculum is broad and relevant; delivered through termly themed imaginative learning projects which support appropriate pre-formal, semi-formal and formal learning pathways towards independent learning. In key stage 4, a range of accreditation is offered from entry level to GCSE to prepare pupils for their next stage of education.
