Phonics Intervention Teacher - Ilminster Avenue E-ACT Academy

We know just how important it is to think big and to help break those glass ceilings faced by young people today; together we can encourage our pupils to step out from their comfort zones, build self-esteem and broaden their horizons. We believe in looking beyond textbooks and whiteboards, and are committed to developing our pupils by enabling them to challenge themselves in new ways and supporting them to maintain their emotional and physical wellbeing.

We need to appoint an exceptional Phonics Intervention Teacher to start at the academy in November 2021. You will play a key role in the delivery of phonics and providing phonic interventions to improve outcomes across the school. We’re searching for a teacher who will inspire our children/pupils/students in the classroom by delivering innovative curricula and by giving them the confidence to think big for themselves as they progress through our academy.

The key skills we are looking for are as follows:

Understanding of the teaching and learning of phonics across the key stages.
Have specialist phonics knowledge.
High quality first teaching.
Confident in supporting pre-teaching and intervention groups.
Confident in providing phonic interventions to improve outcomes across the school.
The position we are offering is full time (32.5 hours per week Monday to Friday) and on a fixed term contract until 31/08/2022, and we require the candidate to commence employment as soon as possible.
