Play Worker job summary
Dorridge Primary School, a large three form entry, community Primary school with a nursery, offers high quality wraparound care in a purpose-built provision, known as Darby’s. We would like to appoint a dynamic, dedicated Play Worker to join our After School Club provision.
Start Date: As soon as possible
Salary: Band A, hourly rate - £12.26 to £12.45 per hour plus holiday pay. Full time equivalent range: £23,656 - £24,027 per annum.
Contract: Permanent, 8.25 hours per week, Term Time – 38 weeks per year
Hours of Work: Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, Teatime club: 3:15pm – 6:00pm
We wish to appoint a Playworker to join the team at Darby out of hours provision based at Dorridge Primary School.
Main duties and responsibilities will include:
- Implementing a varied, stimulating and exciting range of activities that meet the children’s developmental needs.
- Ensuring the facility is ready for use, by setting up and clearing away.
- Working as part of a highly motivated and professional team.
- Establishing positive relationships with children and their families.
- Working in close partnership with all school staff and support the whole school ethos.
The ideal candidate will be able to:
- adhere to and promote all school policies;
- safeguard children and promote health and safety;
- promote good practise in a professional and inclusive manner;
- maintain a close liaison with class teachers in order to be aware of and respond appropriately to the needs of all children in your care;
- take responsibility for personal professional development, including participation in own annual appraisal, any necessary training, and keeping abreast of all current issues relating to providing this service.
