Playworker job summary

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, energetic and caring Play Worker to join our hard working and committed team in our successful before\afterschool club, Nest. The Nest provides a safe, inclusive and caring environment for children aged 4-11 attending our school. We are recruiting now with a view to this role starting ASAP.

No experience is necessary, other than a desire to work with children. Training will be given to the successful applicant as will the opportunity to shadow and work alongside long serving members of The Nest team. All Nest staff are Level 2 Food Hygiene trained, the successful applicant will be given the opportunity to undertake this training.

Duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • actively working and participating under the direction of the Play Leader to provide extended opportunities for children to relax, learn and play
  • providing appropriate care, control and supervision of pupils in the Nest;
  • providing safe, creative and appropriate play opportunities;
  • helping serve breakfast / afternoon snacks;
  • ensuring that each child’s wellbeing is met and they thrive in a safe environment.

The candidate will be required to undergo a full enhanced DBS check and must be eligible to work in the UK.
