Playworker job summary
In both of our clubs you will be supervising the children attending the wrap-a-round session. You will be expected to create a safe and secure environment for children where they can feel safe and happy in their play.
As a playworker, you will support the children in their play and help create activities that will engage them and help further their development. Through positive relationships, you will help children to behave well, communicate their needs and worries and foster the school values of Kindness, Respect and Responsibility.
It will be necessary on occasion to support children with their care needs and you must be willing to support children who need changing after an accident.
You will need to be able to support children with Special Educational Needs although guidance and training speicific to the individual child will be provided.
In both clubs, children have the opportunity to eat and you will be expected to promote high standards of hygiene and to also encourage good table manners.
Breakfast Club only
Only our Breakfast Club serves fresh food. You will not be expected to prepare or cook the main food items each day but you will be asked to help prepare simple foods such as toast and cereal. You will then be a part of the team that serves it up including buttering toast and spreading jams and honey on other foods such as pancakes and crumpets.
