Pool Lifeguard job summary
Astley Community High School is unique among Northumberland schools in having its own 20 metre swimming pool that helps swimmers of all ages to develop water confidence and swimming skills on our swimming programmes.
Working alongside our experienced swimming teacher, we are seeking to add to our bank of Pool Lifeguards, to provide casual cover during sessions and sometimes at short notice for other Lifeguards. The sessions are between 4.00pm to 8.00pm Monday to Friday plus occasional work during school holidays. Some weekend working may be required.
RLSS UK National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) is essential. Reliable and punctual, ideally with a degree of flexibility to work as and when required, you will be able to deal calmly with a range of situations and understand the importance of working to Normal Operating Procedures and Emergency Action Plans.
You will also be expected to attend monthly pool lifeguard training to keep your skills up-to-date.
