What skills and experience we're looking for
Within this role the post holder will be expected to:
- To support the welfare of individual students within Post-16.
- To support the Director of Post-16 Studies and Deputy Director of Post-16 Studies in establishing high standards of achievement, behaviour and attendance and to create a positive Post-16 identity.
- To support and challenge students to ensure that they are successful in their studies and achieve outcomes that enable them to progress on to future study, employment or apprenticeships.
- Active promotion of school ethos and expectations across Post-16.
- To embed the virtues of The Minster School in students, supporting them to engage with learning and wider school life.
The ideal candidate will -
- be able to deal sensitively with vulnerable students and their families
- have experience of working effectively with children and young people in a learning environment
- have the ability to remain patient and calm in challenging situations
- have a strong commitment to safeguarding our students

The Minster School is seeking to appoint a Post 16 Student Support Assistant, to join our highly skilled teamwho help to establish high standards of achievement, behaviour and attendance among students, along with supporting the welfare of individual students. The role forms a central part of the work of Post 16 studies and will work closely with teaching staff and other support staff to support, develop and further extend the work of the department and the experiences of our students.
