At West SILC, we do things differently—and in The Powerhouse, Farsley, our Post-16 department, we are changing what’s possible for young adults with special educational needs.

We are looking for an inspiring, adaptable, and passionate Post-16 Teacher to join our Life-Changing Pathway, where learners are empowered to live more independently and, where appropriate, gain meaningful employment.

Our innovative curriculum is split into two dynamic strands:
🟡 Learning to LiveReal-world life skills in our immersive Hub life skills suite
🟡 Learning to EarnVocational and enterprise learning in our Foundry, featuring real-world work environments including a training warehouse (built by Amazon!), café, office, and more.

✔ A qualified teacher (QTS/QTLS) who believes in educating for life, not just lessons
✔ Experience of working with learners with SEND (including MLD, SLD, ASD, SEMH, or complex needs)
✔ Someone with energy, creativity, and a drive to rethink what education can look like
✔ A team player who builds relationships with learners, families, and employers
