What skills and experience we're looking for

We are looking for dynamic Pre-Supported Internship Teacher to join an exciting and innovative school. Through your creativity and passion, you will have the opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of young people with complex needs and autism.

Split over three main sites with additional Satellite provisions, Phoenix supports young people aged between 3 and 19. We are an award-winning and “Outstanding” school (Ofsted, Nov 2018) accredited through the National Autistic Society and praised for our creative approaches. The Role

As a dynamic and motivated Pre-supported Internship teacher, you already have a passion for making a difference. In this role, you will have every opportunity to live up to this ambition.

  • Responsible for the teaching and management of a class of students who are on the autistic spectrum in 6th Form.
  • To determine the student’s strengths, interests, and abilities related to skill acquisition and establish projects within the school and local environment.
  • To implement the City and Guilds vocational curriculum for 6th Form students.
  • To lead and manage a team who can support the students in pre- employment skills and work placements.
  • To work collaboratively with the Assistant head of Work-Related Learning, Phase leaders, Job coaches, work related learning co-ordinators and placement facilitators to timetable, plan learning opportunities and record, and track progress towards City and Guilds accreditation
