At Krishna Avanti Primary School, Leicester, we are seeking to appoint a committed and experienced Primary Assistant Principal to become a key member of our Senior Leadership Team and play a central role in our continued success and growth.

This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with the Principal to lead on teaching and learning, inclusion, and pastoral care, while also contributing to whole-school strategy and operational leadership. You will be expected to take an active role in shaping the school’s future, inspiring both staff and pupils, and ensuring excellence in every area of school life.

What will you do?

  • Support the Principal in all aspects of school leadership, including safeguarding, teaching and learning, and inclusive education across all key groups.
  • Lead and manage designated teams, subject areas, and key initiatives, supporting staff through coaching, appraisal, and professional development.
  • Promote a culture of high expectations and respectful behaviour, serving as a role model and upholding the school’s values in every aspect of school life.
  • Oversee operational responsibilities such as duty teams, behaviour systems, budget management, and parental/community engagement.

What are we looking for?

  • The ability to lead and manage the school team effectively and efficiently and work with other professionals and agencies
  • QTS qualified
  • Has up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and guidance in relation to working with, and the protection of, children and young people
  • How to plan, deliver, monitor and evaluate lessons and learning as part of the school curriculum
  • Commitment to the safeguarding and welfare of all students

Krishna Avanti Primary School is a Hindu-faith Free School for boys and girls that opened in September 2011. We are at full capacity with 420 pupils.

The school is set in 5 acres of land, on Spencefield Lane in Leicester, in Evington Hall. The Grade 2 listed building was built for the High Sheriff of Leicester and was also once a Catholic Convent. The main house has great character with beautiful features including an extraordinary library area. It is set in tranquil grounds making this a wonderful site for an excellent learning environment for all children of any faith and background and providing a spacious learning environment both indoors and outdoors.
