What skills and experience we're looking for
Our school ethos is built upon three values (pride, perseverance and positivity), three rules (Be Ready, Be Safe, Be Respectful) and three rights (Everyone has the right to Learn, feel Safe, be Respected) and pupils and staff embody these values throughout everything they do. If you think you can embody these with us, then we could be the school for you.
You will need to have a passion for working with young children, their families and the wider community and will ensure the development needs of each child are met.
What the school offers its staff
We are an open, friendly school and strive for every pupil and staff member to feel happy, safe and secure in our school, enabling them to learn and grow together and hope that you will want to be part of our team as we meet the challenges which lie ahead.
Our school is a two form primary in Soham’s town centre. Visitors to our school comment positively on the space, our facilities and the stimulating environment. Our buildings are set in spacious grounds with a playing field, designated Forest School areas, a pond, an allotment area and quiet outdoor learning spaces. These facilities are well used and add to the wellbeing and learning of our pupils.
Our school values are the things that we believe help to build a happy learning environment. These are understood by all and shared by every member of the school community. We believe in pride, perseverance and positivity.
We are part of Staploe Education Trust, a Multi Academy Trust serving part of East Cambridgeshire. Along with Kennett Primary School, The Shade Primary School and Soham Village College we are a strong, local partnership looking after the learning and wider interests of young people in our community.
Commitment to safeguarding
Staploe Education Trust and its schools are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and expects all adults working within our Trust to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure and medical checks. We will undertake online searches of all shortlisted candidates prior to interview.
