What skills and experience we're looking for

We have an exciting opportunity for a Primary Education Director to join our central team at Ascend Learning Trust in this newly created role. Under the direction of a newly appointed CEO, you will be working within a dedicated and dynamic team, supporting a growing central team for Ascend Learning Trust.

Reporting to the CEO, you will be responsible for the strategic development of school improvement services to the Trust primary schools, supporting the development of both teaching and leadership. In addition, you will also be a key part of the drive to grow ALT particularly in our Primary phase through on boarding new schools to the trust.

As a successful applicant, you will:

  • Have a proven track record of leadership at Headteacher level in a UK state Primary school.
  • Have significant experience of leading sustained improvement across more than one school and ideally a number of schools at once.
  • Be an outstanding communicator, who is approachable and reliable with a strong presence.
  • Hold the ability to inspire and provide strong leadership, with proven experience of developing, empowering and supporting staff.
